In 2009, we were engaged to provide turn-key and fully-managed IT services for a restaurant and lounge opening in Uptown Charlotte.
During construction, we were brought on board to coordinate and implement a secure, reliable network for 14-hour-a-day operations; Windows Server and PC workstations for management use; an affordable cloud-based email, contacts, and calendars solution; and email marketing services to work side-by-side with in-house social media and event promotions.
Along with a secure network and server infrastructure featuring SonicWall and DELL hardware, we implemented Google Apps for flexible, affordable, and cutting-edge email, contacts, and calendar service. Using Google’s web interface as opposed to Microsoft Outlook reduced up-front software and maintenance costs, while Google Apps’ ability to sync email, contacts, and calendars to any mobile device gave management the flexibility to work from anywhere. Since Google Apps is entirely cloud-based, it also eliminated the need for costly hardware and software to run Microsoft Exchange, slashing the overall budget by thousands of dollars.
The result was a scalable, affordable project delivered on time and within budget. Today, we provide ongoing HelpDesk and managed services to this venue.
