The issue commonly affects Adobe but has been seen affecting other programs such as Chrome as well. Here is what the problem looks like:

As you can see the top portion is blank however if you click in the blank area whatever window is behind it will activate. If the desktop is behind it you could be clicking on a shortcut for example. The cause? It appears to be the Intel graphics driver causing the issue. You may notice that if you are running dual monitors that it only happens on 1 monitor. Rebooting usually fixes it temporarily but it returns seemingly randomly. The fix?Updating the Intel graphics card drivers looks to be the permanent fix. You will want to visit the manufactures website to get updated GPU drivers for the card you have. Dell for example you have either visit the dell support site or use the Dell Command Update that comes preinstalled on the computer.

While you are there it doesn’t hurt to go ahead and install any other updates that might be available. Once installed you will want to restart the operating system as well.If you have a Microsoft Surface that is experiencing the issue you simply need to do a check for Windows updates as the driver and firmware updates are pushed as part of the normal operating system updates. Again, you will want to restart after installing.
