Unfortunately, it’s too late and the email has left the outbox on its way to the wrong person. Luckily, we have a way to defer the sent email for a set amount of time in Outlook. We will call this rule the “Career Saver”. To set it up open Outlook and go to your “Rules” and then “Manage Rules & Alerts”
Choose “New Rule”
Choose “Apply rule on messages I send” and click next
Leave the next section as is so we can apply it to all emails you send, click next.
Now we can select the action, choose the defer delivery option and set the number of minutes you want to defer or wait before its sent.
If you want you can choose any exceptions, but leaving it as is will apply this to all emails. Now enter the name for the rule and make sure it’s turned on. Then select finish.
Now when you send an email, it will sit in the outbox for the time you specified. If you realize the email was sent incorrectly, you can delete it or move it to drafts so it can be edited.
